Gorgeous fall foliage is not just the domain of our beloved maples; some herbaceous plants also put on a spectacular show. One of these is Stiff goldenrod (Solidago rigida), a native wildflower that I’ve planted in my yard. Its elegant leaves offer an array of autumn colors, including ochres, peaches, pinks, oranges, and scarlets. I was inspired to capture the lovely but restrained mix of colors in one leaf with this drawing.
